New Competitions Launched for 2011!
We have three brand new awards to make this year, all designed to encourage and promote excellence and good practice.

2011 sees Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design launch three new awards, 'The Alan Peters Award for Excellence', the 'Best Use of British Timber Award' and a 'Best Exhibit' award whilst 'The Chair Competition' will return after it's highly successful inaugural year in 2010. Details of all this year's competitions can be found below.
Every year we invite exhibitors to design and build a chair for our Chair Competition and then ask visitors to try them out at CCD and vote for the one that they would most like to own.
The Alan Peters Award for Excellence will offer up to 3 of the best emerging furniture designer-makers the opportunity to exhibit at CCD and help to give their fledgeling careers a kick start.
A new award open to all exhibitors that encourages designer-makers to explore and understand their timber and where it comes from and to source it as locally as possible.
Designed to reward the truly exceptional exhibits at CCD this new award is a significant accolade for the winner as their work is judged by an esteemed panel against the best of their contemporaries.
