Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design has become the largest selling exhibition of high quality bespoke furniture in the country and every year it draws visitors and exhibitors from around the world. We are very proud that last year 94% of the 900+ visitors that we polled told us that they would definitely visit again with less than 1% telling us that they would not!
Established in 1994 by Betty Norbury the show has evolved and grown significantly and now displays the work of around 70 designer-makers. The emphasis is on furniture, but each year this is complemented by work from several other disciplines such as jewellery, art and glass.
Award-winning furniture designer/maker Jason Heap took over the organisation and curation of the show in 2009 and he is now looking to develop and enhance the exhibition to continue its success. As part of this, he has launched several awards to generate awareness of the craft and reward those that continue to push the boundaries of innovation, skill and perfection.
The emphasis has always been on the quality of the work displayed and this is encouraged by the relatively low cost of exhibiting which allows every designer/maker to apply to exhibit. The show is therefore able to include the very best makers and up and coming talent, regardless of the size of their establishment.
Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design does not take any commission on any sales made at the show meaning that the designer-maker receives 100% of their asking price. This makes the show an excellent proposition for both designer-makers and visitors who can be assured that the exhibition truly has the best interests of the designer-makers at heart.
